Wild Roots encourages middle school children to revel in the wonder of their still present childhood while giving them the tools and time to curate individual goals of mental, emotional, physical and intellectual growth throughout the school year. Our educators offer an alternative approach to traditional schooling, based on the unique developmental needs of the middle school years. In this transitional time between childhood and young adulthood, regular nature immersion brings peace and grounding, while a small class of like-minded peers and caring mentors build a sense of belonging and community. By learning about the natural world, working together through challenges, and building new skills, youth gain confidence and a sense of their place in the world.
